Troubleshooting

2. Trigger mode:

Serial interface

The CLV490 cannot be clocked:

– the "Sensor" LED does not light up

– the red scan line does not appear

Reading mode "Start/stop" or

"Tracking ":

• Incorrect reading pulse source para-

meterized in the CLV490.

• Incorrect command used.

• The CLV490 is not receiving any com-

mand strings on the data interface to

start the reading interval.

• In the "CLV-Setup" program: choose the

DEVICE CONFIGURATION tab, READING TRIG-

GER SOURCE section: is "serial interface"

selected? Serial Interface section: is the

trigger type correct?

• Use correct commands.

Standard trigger:

Start: <START> 21 <STOP>

Stop: <START> 22 <STOP>

EVICE CONFI-

GURATION tab, click the READING TRIGGER

PARAMETERS button, SERIAL INTERFACE sec-

tion).

For reading mode "Tracking":

only start command required.

• Check data connection to host.

In the "CLV-Setup" program: choose the

OST INTERFACE tab.

In DATA FORMAT section: are the correct

interface type (hardware) and data for-

mat selected?

NTERFACE PROTOCOL section: are the cor-

rect start and stop characters selected?

Use the "CLV-Setup" program to check

the host command strings: choose

UXILIARY INTERFACE tab. Choose

MONITOR HOST INTERFACE function.

See Chapter 6.5.10 Monitor Host Inter-

face, Page 6-54.

Download temporarily to the CLV490.

3. Trigger mode:

Object Polling

The CLV490 does not trigger automati-

cally:

– the "Sensor" LED does not light up

– the red scan line does not appear

Reading mode "Start/stop":

• Incorrect reading pulse source para-

meterized in the CLV490.

• Incorrect critera for automatic object

detection parameterized in the CLV490.

• Incorrect position of the CLV490 re-

ferred to the object detection space

parameterized in the CLV490.

• In the "CLV-Setup" program: choose the

EVICE CONFIGURATION tab, READING TRIG-

GER SOURCE section: is "object polling"

selected?

• In the "CLV-Setup" program: choose the

EVICE CONFIGURATION tab, click the OBJECT

OLLING PARAMETERS button:

POLLING PROPERTIES section: are the cor-

rect values selected?

BJECT DETECT SPACE section: are the cor-

rect values selected?

If necessary: are the correct S

CAN ANGLE

and/or OSCILLATING ANGLE LIMITATION se-

lected?

• In the "CLV-Setup" program: choose the

DEVICE CONFIGURATION tab, click the SCAN-

NER POSITION PARAMETERS button:

are the correct values selected?
